In case you haven't heard, there is a competition beginning to brew on campus between the Eighth Grade and a team of St. Paul's faculty and staff.
It all started a few weeks ago when Gini Davis, fitness guru and owner of Crescent City Physical Therapy, contacted St. Paul's about an exciting new web-based fitness program called Walk4Life. Walk4Life is a leader in the pedometer industry and has created a program specially designed to help motivate students to increase their daily physical activity.
Aware of the dangers of childhood obesity, Davis generously donated the eighth grade class pedometers and has signed on to help kickoff the first-ever Eighth Grade Fun & Fitness Challenge.
Over the course of 7 weeks, the two teams will log their steps. Then, on Saturday, May 17th, a winner will be announced at the Eighth Grade Fun & Fitness Challenge Walk.
Registration for the 2 mile walk is $10 and forms are coming soon. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase pedometers for the entire student body next year. Who knows. . maybe next year our students can count their steps all the way up to the moon!
Please mark your calendar for May 17th and remember - Every Step Counts
