Crescent City Physical Therapy (CCPT) offers a sports medicine program designed to provide comprehensive physical therapy services to many of the area high schools, colleges and special athletic events held in New Orleans and to assist athletes (whether weekend, recreational or professional) in maximizing their rehabilitation and training for optimal fitness and performance.
The primary focus of our program is injury prevention and rapid treatment intervention once an injury has occurred. |

Our staff is available for evaluation and treatment of injured athletes both on and off campus. The sports medicine program is available to help high school and other athletes participate safely in sports and to assist in the management of injuries when they do occur to promote safe and quick return to competition.
Athletes may be referred by their physician to physical therapy for care of acute and chronic injuries. Our physical therapists have extensive background in the orthopaedic evaluation and treatment of athletic injuries and work closely with physicians for the rapid resolution of problems that limit physical activity in order to promote return to recreation or competition. CCPT therapists may utilize specialized treatment techniques such as ASTYM and Pilates based rehabilitation to help athletes return to "action" faster along with more traditional approaches of therapeutic exercise and functional activities. Foot orthotics may also be fabricated in our clinics for patients who may require this type of support and/or shock attenuation either for the relief of symptoms for rest and healing or for return to their favored activities.
